Calling All Pin Traders: Pin Trading Essentials

Have you ever spotted Disney Cast Members with lanyards or boards covered in Disney pins?
They’re there for one magical reason— Disney pin trading!
Pin trading is an exciting way to connect with Cast Members and fellow Disney guests while collecting unique Disney keepsakes. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to organize your growing collection, this guide will help you navigate the world of Disney pin trading!
Getting Started
Does pin trading sound fun and exciting, but you don’t know where to start?
The best place to start is with a starter kit. You can buy starter pin trading kits at most stores in a Disney Park. Each starter kit includes a lanyard and 4 pins.
This is a great place to start pin trading because you get pins to start trading and a lanyard to store the pins while in the parks! Lanyards are a great way to organize and store the pins while in the park.
If you can’t wait until your Disney trip, here’s a starter pin set!
This starter pack from Amazon is themed around the iconic Disney movie Peter Pan! The lanyard has pictures from the movie, like Skull Rock and the pirate ship. The four pins are Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, and Smee.

Mystery Pin Sets
After a starter kit, the next best place to start is with mystery pin sets!
While starter sets are great, they only come with four pins. Pin trading will get boring quickly if you only use the four pins.
Mystery pin sets are a great way to get many pins to keep and trade with others! There are mystery pin sets themed around different Disney characters and movies, so there is truly something for everyone.
The reason why mystery pin sets are an amazing way to start pin trading is you don’t know what you’re going to get! Each mystery pack comes with a set number of pins. If you get any repeats, you can use those pins to trade!
Here are some mystery pins sets from Loungefly.
