7. Carthay Circle
It’s not dinner and a movie but in many ways it’s like dinner at the movies when you and your other half dine at Carthay Circle Restaurant in California Adventure. The restaurant is named and modeled after the historic Carthay Circle Theater, which premiered many iconic films including Gone with the Wind and Walt Disney’s first feature-length animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is also where Disney’s Fantasia premiered in 1940, which called for the installation of the then most elaborate sound system of all time—the Fantasound. While the original theater no longer stands, Disney’s stunning 2012 replica of the 1926 marvel now treats guests to brand new features—all of the culinary nature. Get lost in the romance and glamor of Hollywood in its heyday as you’re surrounded by elegant décor and style—all while enjoying a delightful menu comprised of fresh locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the building. The first story houses the Carthay Circle Lounge, which offers up smaller platters and a wide selection of drinks—also a romantic spot for those looking for lighter options. Club 33 members can even enjoy the exclusive Club 1901 lounge also located on the first floor.
