18. Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean has been a longtime fan favorite at Disneyland Park (and later Disney World) since its first inception in 1967. And with the release of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise in 2003, the ride’s popularity has boomed even more. Now newer and older fans alike are making this a must-do ride experience to be had when visiting Disney. While the original ride is what first inspired the movies, the movies in turn have played an influential role in later developments, updates, and refurbishments. This includes the addition of Captain Jack Sparrow along with several other touches. But the original concept has stayed the same—guests set sail on a boat ride through different sights and sounds featuring pirate antics, animatronics, and that famed song classic “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life For Me).”
