12. Matterhorn Bobsleds
Matterhorn Bobsleds has long been a fan favorite at Disneyland Park. Having opened back in 1959, this high-speed thrill ride was modeled after the famed Matterhorn Mountain of the Swiss Alps. The adventure takes you on an old, weather-beaten sled as you make enduring climbs up the mountain through howling winds and icy caves. Then it’s all downhill from there with bracing speeds that send you dipping, diving, slipping, and sliding, all while trying to evade the wrath of the elusive Abominable Snowman that makes his home here. On one final note of interest, this was the very first tubular steel continuous track coaster ever to be constructed. It is therefore highly regarded as an American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) landmark.
