2. TODAY AT DISNEYLAND
Although Disneyland will, as Walt said, “never be finished,” it continues to expand, grow and change with the times. And the more it changes, the more some things stay the same, and when it comes to Disney, that can be a good thing.
Nine of the original rides open on Opening Day are still running—Autopia, King Arthur’s Carrousel, Jungle Cruise, Mad Tea Party, the Mark Twain Riverboat, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Peter Pan’s Flight, Snow White’s Scary Adventures and the Storybook Land Canal Boats. For diehard Disney fans, these rides represent more than just fun attractions. They are representative of Walt’s vision and his eye for the future. That’s because these attractions were dreamed up and created by Walt Disney.
Today, Disneyland remains one of the most visited amusement/entertainment parks in all the world. The parks welcome over 18 million Guests through the gates each year who still want to experience the only theme park in the world to have been developed under the direct supervision of Walt Disney himself.
