Disney World Guest Gets Unexpected Item Through Magic Kingdom Security: “Never Had Anyone Ask”
People bring plenty of unusual things with them on a Walt Disney World vacation. Matching shirts, elaborate Mickey ears, character-inspired outfits and carefully planned photo props have all become part of the experience.
But one Magic Kingdom guest recently arrived with something that even Disney Cast Members apparently weren’t prepared to see.
A porch goose!
Not a real goose, of course. This was Lucy Goosey, a decorative porch goose who has developed a following of her own on social media. Content creator Liz decided Lucy deserved the full Disney princess treatment, which meant dressing her up, taking her to Magic Kingdom and posing her in front of Cinderella Castle.
The resulting trip may be one of the more unusual Disney World photo shoots you’ll see this year.
And before Lucy Goosey could live out her princess dreams, there was one important question that needed an answer: Would Disney actually let a porch goose through the gates?
Disney World Gets a Very Unusual Phone Call
Liz didn’t simply show up at Magic Kingdom carrying a large decorative goose and hope for the best.
According to the video documenting the experience, her husband called Walt Disney World before the visit to make sure bringing Lucy Goosey into the park wouldn’t create an issue, particularly when the family reached security.

Even the Cast Member handling the call seemed surprised by the request.
“I’ve never had anyone ever ask me this before,” the Cast Member said.
It’s easy to understand why.
Disney World Cast Members probably hear just about every vacation question imaginable. Guests want to know what they can bring into the parks, what they need to leave at their hotel, how certain policies work and whether unusual items are permitted.
A decorative porch goose apparently hadn’t made the list before.
Once the family had checked ahead of time, Lucy was ready for her big day.
Lucy Goosey Heads Through Magic Kingdom Security
Getting Lucy to Magic Kingdom was only part of the adventure.
The Instagram video follows the family as they bring the porch goose into the park, including the security process. Lucy was eventually handed over while wrapped in clear plastic and Disney shopping bags.
Several Cast Members reportedly commented that they had never encountered anything quite like it before.
That probably shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Disney security sees thousands of bags, strollers and personal items move through its checkpoints every day. Yet there’s a good chance a guest carrying a dressed-up decorative goose is still going to get some attention.
Once Lucy made it through, however, the important part could begin.
She had a castle waiting for her.
A Porch Goose Gets Her Disney Princess Moment
Lucy Goosey didn’t make the trip to Magic Kingdom wearing her everyday porch attire.
For the occasion, she received a full princess makeover.
Lucy wore a teal-colored princess ballgown along with a wig featuring bangs and braids. The hairstyle had a look reminiscent of Anna from Frozen (2013), making the decorative goose look surprisingly at home against the Disney backdrop.

Naturally, the destination for the photo shoot was Cinderella Castle.
The photos shared from the visit show Lucy posed in front of the Magic Kingdom icon, creating the kind of Disney vacation picture that would be almost impossible to scroll past without doing a double take.
But the family took the joke one step further.
Liz’s sons joined Lucy for one of the pictures, standing on either side of the goose while wearing matching black shirts.
The shirts read “Princess Security.”
Suddenly, Lucy wasn’t simply a porch decoration visiting Disney World. She was a full-fledged princess arriving at Cinderella Castle with her own security detail.
The Instagram Video Quickly Gets Attention
The entire adventure was shared through the lizandagoose Instagram account.
The caption kept things simple, saying that dreams really do come true at Walt Disney World and Disney Parks, along with hashtags referencing the porch goose, Disney World and Magic Kingdom.
The post quickly attracted thousands of likes and plenty of comments from people enjoying Lucy’s unusual Disney vacation.
One Instagram user called it the best thing they had seen all month, while another joked that Lucy Goosey would return home with plenty of stories to tell her fellow porch friends.
Considering the amount of planning that goes into some Disney vacations, there’s something especially funny about a decorative goose becoming one of the stars of a Magic Kingdom visit.
And Lucy Goosey isn’t just a random prop pulled out for the Disney trip.
The Instagram account features additional videos centered around the porch goose, its outfits and the ongoing joke surrounding it. The Disney visit simply gave Lucy a much bigger backdrop than the average front porch.
Porch Geese Have Become a Nostalgic Trend Again
For anyone wondering why someone has a porch goose in the first place, the decorations have been around for decades.
The concept is wonderfully simple. A goose statue sits outside a home, usually near a porch or front door, and the owner changes its clothing depending on the season, holiday or occasion.
There can be outfits for Christmas, Halloween, summer and other events. Some owners have even built sizable wardrobes for their geese.
In other words, dressing one as a Disney princess isn’t that far outside the normal porch-goose tradition.
Taking it all the way to Magic Kingdom, however, certainly raises the bar.
Social media has also given nostalgic decorations and traditions new life. Something that might once have simply sat outside someone’s home can now become a recurring character online.
Lucy Goosey is a pretty good example of that.
Instead of staying home while the family visited Disney World, she became part of the vacation.
Disney World Vacations Can Get Extremely Personal
The whole story also shows how differently people approach Disney World trips.
For some guests, the vacation revolves around riding as many attractions as possible. Others spend their time meeting characters, trying food, collecting merchandise or finding the perfect spot for photos.
Then there are guests who bring a porch goose to Cinderella Castle.
Disney World has always been a place where families find their own ways to create memories, and social media has made some of those moments far more visible. Matching family outfits and elaborate DisneyBounding looks are common, but guests continually find new ways to personalize their trips.
Lucy Goosey certainly falls into that category.
There was no new attraction involved. There wasn’t a major Disney announcement or limited-edition piece of merchandise driving the moment.
It was simply a family taking an inside joke — and a well-dressed goose — and turning it into a Disney memory.
The fact that even Cast Members reportedly hadn’t seen anything quite like it only makes the story better.
Lucy Goosey Finally Gets Her Castle
By the end of the adventure, the question wasn’t whether a porch goose belonged at Magic Kingdom.
Lucy looked like she had been preparing for the trip all along.
She made it through security, arrived at Cinderella Castle in a princess gown, posed for her glamour shots and even had her own “Princess Security” standing nearby.
Most porch decorations are lucky if they get a new outfit for Halloween.

And considering how much attention her Magic Kingdom adventure received online, the trip proved that sometimes the most memorable Disney World moments have nothing to do with riding an attraction or meeting a character.
Sometimes, all you need is Cinderella Castle, a princess dress and one very well-traveled porch goose.
