Disney Resort Makes It Official: Longstanding Event Is Coming to an End
Another Disney tradition is preparing for its final curtain call.
Disney’s theme parks have built entire calendars around seasonal celebrations, with certain events becoming almost as popular as the attractions themselves. At Walt Disney World, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party transform Magic Kingdom with exclusive parades, entertainment, and character appearances.

Disneyland Resort has its own traditions. Disney California Adventure hosts the separately ticketed Oogie Boogie Bash during Halloween, while its annual Lunar New Year celebration brings Asian-inspired entertainment, food, and Disney characters to the park.
Other Disney resorts have developed celebrations exclusive to their locations. Disneyland Paris introduced the Disney Music Festival in 2025, while Hong Kong Disneyland regularly welcomes Duffy and Friends for its springtime Play Days event.
However, one particularly colorful Disney celebration is now approaching its final installment, with the resort confirming that the event series will conclude next year.
Three Years of Disney Character Celebrations Come to an End
Tokyo Disney Resort has officially confirmed that Disney Pal-Palooza, its recurring character-themed event series at Tokyo Disneyland, will end in 2027.
The announcement came on November 4, when the resort revealed that its seventh and final installment will run from January 13 through March 31, 2027. Minnie Mouse will headline the farewell event, known as Minnie’s Funderland.

Disney Pal-Palooza originally debuted in January 2024, transforming Tokyo Disneyland into a pink wonderland inspired by Minnie’s imagination. The celebration featured special entertainment, decorations, merchandise, and food, establishing a format that would continue over the following three years.
Donald Duck took over for the second installment, Donald’s Quacky Duck City, in April 2024. The following January brought Vanellope’s Sweet Pop World, inspired by the Wreck-It Ralph character and her candy-filled video game universe.
Donald returned for another event in spring 2025, followed by a second installment of Minnie’s Funderland in January 2026. Vanellope subsequently reclaimed the spotlight in April, making the upcoming celebration Minnie’s third appearance as the series’ central character.
Unlike traditional Disney seasonal events, Pal-Palooza has focused on individual characters, each receiving their own themed entertainment and park decorations. Its name combines “pal,” meaning friend, with “palooza,” referring to a lively celebration.

Oriental Land Company, which operates Tokyo Disney Resort, has not explained why the series is ending. It has also not announced a replacement for Disney Pal-Palooza after March 2027.
Minnie Mouse Takes Over Tokyo Disneyland One Last Time
For its final installment, Tokyo Disneyland is bringing back Minnie @Funderland, a daytime parade featuring six floats and appearances by Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy, and other familiar Disney characters.
The parade will run once daily for approximately 40 minutes, beginning in Fantasyland before traveling through the park. It will stop at three locations, including the Cinderella Castle forecourt, with different performances depending on where guests watch.
At night, Cinderella Castle will feature projection mapping inspired by Minnie Mouse as part of Fundernight. The projections will feature hearts, ribbons, and polka dots, with heart-shaped stained glass decorations on nearby lampposts.

Special decorations will extend throughout Tokyo Disneyland, including a giant ribbon installation in World Bazaar and a Minnie-themed flower bed near the entrance. A new photo booth at the Camera Center will also let guests purchase themed photographs.
Merchandise will arrive on January 12, including Minnie Mouse accessories and the Dreamy Funder Wand. The wand features a transparent heart-shaped section that makes lights appear as hearts when viewed or photographed through it.
Limited-time food offerings will debut even earlier, on December 26, 2026. These include pink Minnie Macarons and Minnie Ribbon Bread, while souvenir food items will become available on January 12.
The farewell celebration will also reach beyond the park. Tokyo Disneyland Hotel will offer specially decorated Minnie-themed rooms from January 12 through March 31, complete with exclusive pouches and postcards for guests.

Both Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and Disney Ambassador Hotel will serve themed menus. Meanwhile, the Disney Resort Line will introduce special Minnie-themed tickets, extending the final Pal-Palooza celebration across the resort.
The event’s conclusion comes during a period of major changes at Tokyo Disneyland. On April 15, 2027, the park will open Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, a new interactive attraction based on Wreck-It Ralph.
Guests will get an early taste of the attraction through promotional activities beginning January 12, including a themed minigame. Elsewhere in Tomorrowland, Disney is preparing to debut Space Mountain: Earthrise, a completely rebuilt version of the classic roller coaster, in 2027.
