Disney Confirms France Pavilion Closure at EPCOT, Effective This June
Something is quietly disappearing inside EPCOT’s World Showcase this summer, and many guests may not even realize it until they walk into the France Pavilion and see the doors closed.
Disney has now confirmed that La Signature, the Guerlain fragrance and cosmetics boutique located in the back of the pavilion, will temporarily shut down beginning June 8, 2026. The closure is expected to last for several months, with the location currently scheduled to reopen sometime later in 2026.

While EPCOT is constantly changing, closures inside World Showcase often grab attention because many of these locations have remained largely untouched for years. Guests tend to associate World Showcase with stability and tradition. Attractions come and go elsewhere around Walt Disney World, but the pavilions inside EPCOT usually keep their signature experiences intact for long stretches of time.
That is part of why this closure stands out.
La Signature may not be one of EPCOT’s headline attractions, but it has quietly become a popular stop for guests looking for luxury French fragrances, skincare products, and personalized beauty consultations while walking through World Showcase.
A Hidden EPCOT Experience Many Guests Overlook
For years, La Signature has operated as one of the more unique retail experiences anywhere in EPCOT. Located within the France Pavilion, the boutique offers over 70 different French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain, along with makeup consultations and specialty beauty products.
Unlike many merchandise locations around Walt Disney World that focus heavily on Disney-branded items, La Signature feels much closer to a real luxury boutique guests might stumble across while traveling through Paris.
That distinction helped the location stand apart inside World Showcase.
EPCOT has always leaned heavily into cultural experiences, and the France Pavilion remains one of the park’s most detailed and immersive areas. Between Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, the pavilion’s restaurants, bakery, shops, and live entertainment, it consistently draws large crowds throughout the day.
La Signature became part of that atmosphere.
The store’s sleek interior, fragrance displays, and high-end presentation offered something very different from the more traditional souvenir-heavy shopping experiences guests find elsewhere around the resort.
Now, however, that experience is temporarily going away.

Disney Already Has a Temporary Plan in Place
Disney confirmed that while La Signature remains closed, Guerlain merchandise will still be available nearby at Plume et Palette.
That means guests looking for perfumes, skincare items, or cosmetics will still have access to many of the products during the refurbishment period, even if the dedicated boutique itself is unavailable.
Disney has not announced exactly what work will take place during the closure.
Right now, the company has only stated that the location will reopen “later in 2026,” leaving the actual timeline fairly open-ended.
That wording usually suggests Disney is giving itself flexibility in case construction or refurbishment timelines shift behind the scenes.
And lately, EPCOT has seen plenty of projects take longer than originally expected.
EPCOT Continues Evolving Even After Its Massive Transformation
For much of the last several years, EPCOT has essentially existed in a constant state of construction. Massive projects reshaped the front half of the park, introduced new neighborhoods, added CommuniCore Hall, transformed World Celebration, and brought new experiences like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana (2023).
While the biggest overhaul phase has largely wrapped up, smaller projects continue appearing throughout the park.
That is especially true inside World Showcase.
Unlike Magic Kingdom or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT’s international pavilions require Disney to carefully balance updates with preserving the cultural atmosphere guests expect. Even relatively minor closures can become noticeable because so many guests return to these same locations year after year.
France, in particular, has become one of EPCOT’s busiest sections.
Ever since Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opened, crowd flow through the pavilion has changed dramatically. Areas that once felt relaxed and tucked away now stay packed for large portions of the day.
That increased traffic likely adds extra wear and tear to shops, dining locations, and surrounding spaces.
Disney has not specifically said whether this closure is tied to maintenance, refurbishment, operational upgrades, or something more extensive. Still, the fact that the closure could last several months suggests this is more than a quick touch-up project.
World Showcase Closures Always Feel Different
There is something about World Showcase closures that hits EPCOT fans differently.
Part of it comes from nostalgia. Many guests have personal traditions tied to specific pavilions, stores, and hidden corners throughout the park. Some people stop in France for pastries. Others head to Mitsukoshi in Japan. Some visit the United Kingdom Pavilion for tea or entertainment.
La Signature may not be one of EPCOT’s most famous destinations, but for returning guests, it became part of the pavilion’s identity.
And unlike ride refurbishments, retail closures inside World Showcase can completely alter the feel of an area.
The France Pavilion has already evolved significantly over the past several years. Disney expanded the area for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, added new pathways, introduced La Crêperie de Paris, and shifted crowd patterns entirely.
Now another piece of the pavilion is temporarily disappearing.
Fortunately, this does not appear to be a permanent closure. Disney still intends to reopen the boutique later this year, which should reassure fans who regularly visit the location during EPCOT trips.
Still, for guests planning summer or fall vacations to Walt Disney World, La Signature will officially be unavailable for a large portion of 2026.
And in a park like EPCOT, even smaller closures inside World Showcase rarely go unnoticed.
