4. The Pools Serve a Higher Purpose
Besides being a huge part of the fun when your ride ends, the splash-down pools serve two greater purposes. Firstly, they’re designed to cool the braking pads on the sleds after all that ice-melting friction. And secondly, they serve as braking mechanisms themselves, because at the speed this ride goes, there’s no telling what part of Disneyland you might end up in without them!
