3. Rooted in history
There is an old Canary Island date tree that stands between the Jungle Cruise and Indiana Jones Adventure attractions, and according to sources this tree is the oldest known thing in the entire park. The tree was planted in 1896 as a wedding gift to the Dominguez family. When Walt Disney purchased the existing ranch with development plans underway for what was to be Disneyland he took a very special interest in the tree and its historical significance. So it was configured into the park working plans, transported a little ways, and went on to become a beautiful addition to the Adventureland scene.
